Location Rewards are ad campaigns that retailers run periodically to promote certain products and specials. As with any sort of ad campaign, the frequency with which you'll see them varies by season, geographic location and the specific demographic the retailer wishes to target.
This is why you won't receive location rewards every time you visit a specific retail location, and yes, it is perfectly normal for another Pogo-user to receive location rewards at a specific retailer even if you don't. You're simply not in the current target demographic. Don't worry, your time will come! Below, we've listed a few other reasons why you might not be receiving Location Rewards.
1. You aren't visiting locations that tend to run rewards opportunities
Location rewards will vary based on where a business is wanting to trigger an offer. Common locations are:
- Major Grocery Chains
- Home Improvement Stores
2. You reached the time limit for a given location
If you get a push notification about location rewards, you must open the app within 4 hours of getting the notification.
3. Network issues are preventing you from claiming your rewards
Once is awhile, where you are will affect your ability to complete tasks in the app. This can happen with any app that requires location information. It's possible that your network connection is unstable even if it appears to be fine. We recommend:
- Putting your phone in airplane mode and then turning it off
- Connecting to stable WiFi
4. You've stopped sharing your location with Pogo
You will see "Fix Error" next to the location rewards section of your app. Tapping on this will take you to your phone settings so that you can reinstate location sharing. You must select "Always" share in order for the error to be resolved.
