Pogo's new Drive to Save feature (powered by Zendrive) helps users find car insurance savings based on how they drive or their mileage. Some traditional insurance policies include premiums based on other factors that have nothing to do with your driving behavior, like your credit score, location or age.
When you activate Drive to Save, your driving will be tracked for a period of time (usually 30 days, but this varies from driver to driver). At the end of this period, you'll receive a drive score and find out if you qualify for a lower insurance rate. There is no obligation to purchase the policy that you are offered.
Below, you'll find some of the most frequently asked questions about the Drive to Save feature.
How is my drive score calculated?
Your drive score is determined by your driving behavior and measures related factors including:
- Your speed
- The time of day you drive
- How you handle your vehicle
- Your level of focus while driving
- Your mileage
How does the feature know to start tracking the drive?
You will need to have your activity recognition settings activated on your mobile phone and keep it with you each time you drive in order to use this feature. As long as these settings are enabled for Pogo, we will be able to detect when your drive begins.
What do I do if I am in a car but I am not the one driving?
There are 2 options here:
- Before you get in a car when you are not the driver, go to your Pogo app and navigate to the “Drive to Save” section. Click “Stop Tracking”. This will pause your drive from being tracked. When your ride is over, you can navigate back to the same section and resume tracking.
- It's easy to forget to turn off tracking before getting into the car with a high-energy driver 🙃. If that happens, no worries! Pogo support can assist with deleting a trip where you were not driving. You can contact our support team by clicking the link at the bottom of the page and share the date and time of when this trip occurred and we'll remove it from your history.
Am I guaranteed a better rate by participating?
You aren’t guaranteed a better rate by using Drive to Save, however, by following our driving tips and driving safely throughout the test drive experience, you increase your chances of getting a lower insurance rate or discount in the future.
How will my drive score impact my insurance discount?
The higher your drive score is, the better your offer will be.
Will I be able to stay with the same insurance provider after I receive a discount?
If the offer is from a new insurance provider, you will need to switch to the new provider to get the lower rate. If the offer is from your existing insurance provider, you will not be eligible for the offer.
I am seeing errors indicating that something is preventing my driving from being tracked. How can I fix these errors?
You can generally fix any error messages you receive by going to the Settings section on your phone and allowing Pogo access (always) to that setting. You can contact our support team if you have questions about specific errors.
Will my current policy rate be affected by this test drive process?
Going through this process will not affect how much you are paying for your current policy. The driving data that is collected is shared anonymously with Zendrive for the purpose of determining whether or not you qualify for an offer.
Again, it will be up to you if you want to opt in to the new policy. You are not required to make a purchase after participating in the test drive.
